How to Support Student Radio

There’s a whole load of ways you can support student radio – it all depends on who you are….!

Students!

Support your local station by listening in, or getting involved in your student station. If broadcasting isn’t the thing for you, maybe promote your favourite shows to your friends on facebook or twitter.

Radio Industry

You can get involved by contacting your local student station and offering support to training days – or work experience to enthusiastic students. Alternatively, the Student Radio Association are always looking for speakers for our events, judges for their competitions and people willing to help in our campaigns – email our Events Officer.

Universities & Students Unions

It’s really important that you support your student radio station; financially – and with guidance, training, information and publicity.
If your university doesn’t have a station – and you’re interested in setting one up – email our Development Officer.

Businesses

You can help out too with advertising, sponsorship and promotions. Most student stations can advertise your products, and Student Radio may prove to be a lucrative opportunity for your business to target the student population at a reasonable price. Alternatively there’s always room for prizes and giveaways on air!

If you’re interested in national advertising opportunities with the student radio association – or tips and advice for student radio advertising in general – contact our Marketing Officer.
